Rodent count.

I'm sorry to say it, but there are mice in the house.

We have set up traps in order to eliminate them. On April 12th, we had three in the traps.

Me: 2 dead, 1 wounded.
Mice: One bag of grass seed.

  1. This is Katie VT (Maas) btw. My parent's had mice in their house in the past. The best way is poison. Then they die, and they probably die in your walls, but they and all of their friends are dead and any more friends that show up die, too. Also, maybe spend the $50 or $100 for an exterminator, they will find most (probably not all, but most) entrances for the mice, and eliminate them. Until then, store all food in plastic containers. Best of luck!

  2. Ooh, and sticky traps would help, too. Those at least keep them in one place. Put poison and sticky traps near where you've seen evidence of mice, wait a while, and you'll hear them. It's kind of sad, but it's kind of the only way. :)

  3. We have four traps altogether right now. Two TomCats, which have swirly blades that kill the mice instantly, then you dispose of the traps. Those have not caught anything yet.

However, the two clamp traps have been doing all the work. They are in the kitchen, and are working wonders. I found many entrances and used Great Stuff to seal them.

  4. Copper mesh might work better. For some reason, probably the chewing thing, mice won't work through copper. :) Glad it's working out, darling!
